JiveX - The Modern Image Management System for all fields of medicine
In today’s era of DRGs and continuously mounting cost pressure, there is a growing need to design PACS solutions as integrated comprehensive solutions, and they have to represent the entire image management of a hospital or a group of hospitals. This is the only way they can meet the aim of integrating all diagnostic activities into a uniform patient record. This way they contribute to a reduction of reading times and patient stays, and help improve quality of patient care through optimized communication.
JiveX makes it possible to realize integral solutions of this kind, still taking into account the specific requirements of the respective fields of medicine. The concept consists of making available all relevant applications at each workplace of an organization, based on a unified platform of modern Web technologies. This platform takes on all the logistics, from image acquisition to distribution of images and reports including digital reading, to X-ray conferences and image archiving.
JiveX is characterized by its particularly high speed, and lends itself perfectly to integration in an existing system infrastructure thanks to its flexible interfaces.
Thanks to comprehensive DICOM compliance, the system is equipment manufacturer-independent. JiveX supports common standard hardware and facilitates system main- tenance through the singlepoint-of-administration concept.
RADIOLOGY DIAGNOSTIC WORKSTATION
1. JiveX Diagnostic Client BASIC
The Multi-Functional Reporting Software for all Imaging Modalities
The independent reporting software JiveX Diagnostic was designed for all imaging modalities based on the DICOM standard. It provides a broad spectrum of image processing options, including multiplanar reconstruction. With the aid of oblique MPRs and adaptable cutlines, it is possible to make any cross-section through the volume displayed.
Slice distance and slice thickness can be freely selected. In conjunction with the integrated workflow management, it provides rapid image reporting and top work efficiency in radiology, cardiology, endoscopy, sonography, and further imaging fields.
The system has been optimized for efficient and secure re- porting, including CT, MRI, X-ray, angiography, sonography, ECG and nuclear medicine, based on the DICOM standard. Highly specialized hanging and reading protocols for all imaging methods allow for automated preparation, compilation, and display of images including selected
pre-exams. An easy navigation to time points in dynamic series/studies is a valuable support when reading contrast examinations.
The system is used for standard reporting as well as for teleradiology and other telemedical applications. For this purpose, it comes with all required certificates and approvals.
2. JiveX Diagnostic Client ADVANCED
Extending the diagnostic features provided by the JiveX Diagnostic Client, the JiveX Diagnostic Advanced Client supports all the essential functions for tomography post-processing.
Thus, multiplanar reconstructions that have been created can also be saved as independent new series on the JiveX Server. When doing this, the orientation, image area, slice distance, slice thickness, and running direction can be freely selected. A curved MPR function, including the presentation of orthogonal planes, supports the reading of non-planar anatomic structures for an easier diagnosis of such.
The integrated 3D volume rendering represents tomography series as volumes and allows display (colour) preferences to be set, thereby optimizing volume rendering for different examinations. As a result, air-filled compartments such as the trachea and sinus, and also bone or soft tissues, can be visualized. Hidden anatomical structures can be easily and efficiently uncovered by various cutting functions (clipping, freehand).
Image fusion on the Diagnostic Advanced Workstation encloses all data analysis strategies aiming at combining the information of several images obtained with the same platform or by different spectroscopic platforms.
For the creation of a horizontal or a vertical rotation series for a 3D volume, JiveX Diagnostic Advanced provides a corresponding recording function. Any desired angular steps and rotational direction can be set. The resulting 2D image sequences are automatically added to the study as new DICOM series and are instantly available system-wide. This makes it easier, for example, to prepare complex relationships for diagnostic, clinical demonstration, or visualization purposes.
A real-time synchronization function helps the user to display the current 2D mouse position in a 3D representation; it also supports matching 2D image stacks with the surface point at the cursor position in a 3D representation.
JiveX Diagnostic Advanced supports the DICOM REG object type and automatically applies image registration information when opening an image study including preliminary studies. This allows a synchronized view even for breath- dependent structures of the body, such as the kidneys, liver, or thorax. The manual registration also supports an automatic adjustment of layer thickness (re-quantization) as well as rotation and translation correction of the series to be compared.
For registered studies, real-time synchronization is also available across preliminary patient studies that are represented simultaneously. All functions work with any slice thickness, however, detailed post-processing may require thin section examinations.
3. JiveX Diagnostic Client Mammography
Extending the diagnostic features provided by the JiveX Diagnostic Advanced the JiveX Diagnostic Mammography Client includes the independent reporting software JiveX Diagnostic Mammo which was developed specifically for curative mammography and mammography screening.
The highly specialized hanging and reading protocols meet the most challenging requirements for smooth work processes. As an option, the system comes with the JiveX Mammo Report Manager which is a fully integrated module for reporting.
Dedicated Hanging-Protocols are optimizing the reporting workflow
The system has been optimized for efficient and secure reporting for mammography, and, in addition, it offers all options provided by JiveX Diagnostic. Highly specialized hanging protocols allow for automated preparation, compilation, and display of images including selected pre-exams. JiveX Diagnostic Mammo supports all computed radiography and direct radiography systems for digital mammography, as well as ultrasound and MRI.
4. JiveX Diagnostic Client Tomosynthesis
The reading software JiveX Diagnostic Tomosynthesis offers
in addition to viewing and reading of mammography images further options for presenting and editing tomosynthesis image data
The Software provides optimized MIP algorithms required for generating thin slice views and has advanced image hanging options for tomosynthesis images. Through the DICOM Tomosynthesis Standard, it supports the modalities of different manufacturers.
The system is optimized for efficient and safe diagnosis of tomosynthesis image data and, in addition, offers all functions provided by the JiveX Diagnostic Mammo. Highly specialized hanging protocols allow the automated preparation, compilation, and display of images, including prior studies.
JiveX Diagnostic Tomosynthesis supports vendor-independent tomosynthesis modalities based on the DICOM standard, as well as all image types of the basic system JiveX Diagnostic Mammo. With this system, you can manage the entire workflow – whether for tomosynthesis, curative mammography, or screening.
The JiveX PACS solutions provide a complete system for mammography. We recommend using JiveX Diagnostic Tomosynthesis as a workstation version with an integrated
built-in local image database and various expansion options. If used as client longer loading times are to be expected due to the size of tomosynthesis image data.
The system complies with guidelines provided by EUREF, PAS 1054, and relevant DIN standards for image reproduction and guidelines of the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung, (Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians). In addition, the system meets the IHE integration profiles for mammography. As part of your daily routine, it offers you – besides typical characteristics of a reporting workstation – many special features for digital mammography and tomosynthesis.
